Two taco choices: Search for Best Taco Spot in Central Mass. enters final round

When it comes to tacos, there are two imporant choices: Soft or hard shells?

We've got another choice for you. Our search for the Best Taco Spot in Central Massachusetts has been narrowed to two.

The pick is up to you: El Patron Mexican Restaurant or the Taco Spot?

Voting is underway in our backet-style search for the region's premiere place for tacos. The original field of 16 was narrowed to eight , then four and now two. The list of 16 was based on reader nominations .

El Patron , 192 Harding St., Worcester, reached the finals by ousting Pepe's, capturing 52% of the 1,996 votes.

Taco Spot , 264 Grafton St., Worcester, snared one of the spots in the finals by eliminating Brick Mexican, capturing 66% of the 1,230 votes.

The final round, like other rounds, lasts a week.

The poll is similar to earlier ones for Best Pizza , Best Ice Cream Stand , Best Breakfast Place and Best Chinese Restaurant .

It's an informal poll, unscientific, intended as fun, a departure from the sometimes edgy tone of the internet.
