WORCESTER — The city pool at Crompton Park will be closed until Saturday after pieces of glass were found in the water.

Workers will need to drain the pool and search the floor for any glass. Refilling the pool and balancing chemicals will add to the timetable.

The glass was discovered by workers when they arrived for work Monday. A clear bottle had apparently been thrown over a fence during hours the pool was closed. There was glass on the pool deck and in the water.

The pool, which holds about 144,000 gallons of water, was briefly closed in 2017 after glass was discovered.

Other city and state water facilities remain open.
