This six-foot-long, 400-pound turtle was found entangled in Cape Cod Bay. Three sea turtles have been found entangled off of Cape Cod in the span of just five days. Westborough Seeks Public Input for New Multi-Generational Community Center
By MyFM’s Claire Beverly – Westborough town officials want to know what you think should be offered at the town’s new multi-generational community center. This year the town bought the 64,000 square foot former Boston Sports Club on Union Street to house the Town’s Recreation Department and Senior Center and run rec programs for all ages. They have put out a survey to get your opinions and are also hosting some community meetings, including two on Tuesday, July 30. There is one at 2 pm at the Westborough Senior Center, focused on senior input and one at 6 pm at Memorial Hall focused on general input.

Ralph Gakenheimer, MIT professor emeritus of urban planning, passed away on June 17 in Concord, Massachusetts. He was 89 years old. A faculty member in the Department of Urban Studies and Planning (DUSP), Gakenheimer focused his research on the dynamic relationship between how we classify and use land with the mobility choices individuals make in cities. He was particularly interested in the intentions and choices behind the selection of a particular mode of mobility and how those choices intersect with sustainability and accessibility in developing nations.

Nineteen rising high school juniors and seniors spent their summer participating in the immersive 2024 High School Health Careers Program at UMass Chan Medical School.
