    Pair of 200-strikeout milestones highlight the picks: Cast your vote for the Hometeam Softball Player of the Week

    There were plenty of great performances on the softball field last week, and Jennifer Toland found some of the best for readers to vote on to decide the Hometeam Softball Player of the Week.

    Congratulations to Millbury's Adeline Canney, who edged Bartlett's Dakota Vaudreil in a close race, 1,410 votes (37.4 percent) to 1,098 votes to earn the top spot in last week's poll.

    Player of the week nominations are selected by reporters based on coaches reporting game results into the Telegram & Gazette sports department and game coverage from the T&G sports department staff. Game results and highlights can be submitted by email at sports@telegram.com or by calling the sports department at 508-793-9350.

    Riley Austin, Northbridge

    The senior had eight hits and three RBIs in the Rams’ three games.

    Clare Barrett, Blackstone-Millville

    The eighth-grader went 6 for 7 with a home run and five RBIs to help lead the Chargers to a 3-0 week.

    Tori Belcastro, Leominster

    The senior struck out 7 in a 3-hit shutout of Fitchburg and hit 2 homers and drove in 6 runs.

    Brielle Brothers, Millbury

    The sophomore registered her 200th career strikeout in a two-hit shutout of Grafton.

    Erin Connor, Notre Dame Academy

    The junior picked up two wins and recorded her 200th career strikeout.

    Kathleen Galvin, AMSA

    The sophomore collected 6 hits, including 3 doubles, and drove in 3 runs in the Eagles’ 2-1 week.,

    Elyse Genaway, Tantasqua

    The senior homered in each of Tantasqua’s three games and helped the Warriors to a 2-1 week.

    Ava Grant, St. Paul

    The freshman had two hits and two RBIs in a win over Shrewsbury and struck out 11 in a no-hitter against St. Bernard’s.

    Lola Grube, Uxbridge

    The sophomore collected 6 hits, including a pair of homers, and drove in 5 runs to help the Spartans to a 4-0 week.

    Kiley Hogan, Tyngsborough

    The sophomore went 3 for 4 with 2 homers and 5 RBIs in a win over Quabbin Regional, and she had a single and a double and struck out 13 to lead the Tigers past Lunenburg.

    Madelyn Hogan, Douglas

    The seventh-grader collected five hits, including a triple, and drove in three runs to help the Tigers to a 2-1 week.

    Heidi Jarosz, Shepherd Hill

    In the Rams’ 3-0 week, the senior had four hits, including a triple and home run, and drove in six runs.

    Lyndsey Kay, Valley Tech

    The senior homered in wins over Bay Path and AMSA.

    Chloe Koziol, Lunenburg

    The sophomore drove in seven runs and had three doubles in Luneburg’s 2-1 week.

    Hannah Kursonis, West Boylston

    The eighth-grader pitched a 6-hit shutout with 6 strikeouts against Tahanto Regional and went 4 for 4 with 2 RBIs in a win over Ayer-Shirley.

    Jillian MacFarlane, Maynard

    In the Tigers’ 3-1 week, the junior had 7 hits and 6 RBIs. She struck out nine batters in a win over Clinton.

    Isabel Moreno, Wachusett

    The senior collected 7 hits, including a home run, 2 doubles and a triple, and she drove in 8 runs to help lead the Mountaineers to a 3-1 week.

    Lauren O’Malley, Hudson

    The junior blasted two homers and drove in six runs in the Hawks’ 2-0 week.

    Hannah Reardon, Nashoba

    The senior struck out 25 batters in the Wolves’ two games.

    Laura Rice, Westborough

    The senior belted two homers and a double and had seven RBIs to power the Rangers past Shrewsbury.

    Janelle Scirocco, Nipmuc

    The senior doubled and drove in three runs in a win over Valley Tech and drove in the tying run and came around to score the winner in a walk-off victory over Hopedale.

    Catherine Seay, Marlborough

    The senior collected 6 hits, including a double, triple and home run, and had 5 RBIs to help lead the Panthers to a 2-1 week.

    Olivia Wentworth, Gardner

    The junior collected 6 hits, including 2 doubles, and drove in 4 runs while leading the Wildcats to two wins.
