MU Extension Master Gardener classes begin Aug. 7 in Maryville
University of Missouri Extension Master Gardener training for residents of Atchison, Andrew, DeKalb, Gentry, Holt, Nodaway and Worth counties begins August 7. “The Extension Master Gardener training will help you to gain new horticulture knowledge and become a community resource for science-based information,” says MU Extension horticulturist Gwen Funk. “The training covers the benefits of gardening and provides opportunities to connect with fellow gardeners.”
Driver hospitalized after Missouri SUV rollover crash
WORTH COUNTY —One person was injured in an accident just after 1p.m. Sunday in Worth County. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2021 Chevy Suburban driven by Lesa A. Darrah, 46, Redding, Iowa, was southbound on U.S. 169 just north of 128th trail. The SUV traveled off the west side of the road, struck a MODOT barrier and overturned.
City takes steps on sewer issue, building condemnations
GRANT CITY, Mo. — The Grant City Board of Aldermen heard more about the ongoing sewer issue on Lover’s Lane during its July 23 meeting at City Hall. In May, Gary Owens told the board that water from a leaking line runs beneath his driveway and leaves his yard constantly wet. Owens said that others in the neighborhood share financial responsibility for repairing the line.
