ASHLAND, KY (WOWK) – Officials in Ashland say three out of five new roundabouts on Winchester Avenue are finished, and the final two will be open by the end of April.

The new intersection at Winchester Ave. and 14th Street was just finished, and crews have already started the prep work for the roundabouts at 17th and 18th streets. City spokeswoman Erika Bonner says work is going well and drivers are starting to get the hang of it.

‘It’s an adjustment’: Drivers react to new Ashland roundabouts

“It’s a learning curve, but it’s been about a couple months now since the first roundabout opened. So, I think people are getting used to it. The reverse angle parking, too – that’s a challenge for people – but as it’s gone on and as time goes on, people are getting a lot more used to it,” Bonner said.

According to Bonner, the next road closures will last for about two weeks, starting soon. And that will be the last for the project.
