    Pro Road Nationals: Criterium Race road closures

    CHARLESTON, WV (WOWK) – The Criterium race for the Pro Road National Championships starts Thursday night, and some streets are already blocked throughout Charleston. Those parked in some areas of downtown will also need to move their vehicles before all of the road closures begin.

    According to City of Charleston Officials, anyone parked in the pink-shaded area of the map below will need to move their vehicles to another area before 5 p.m. Thursday if they do not plan to stay in town to watch the race.

    City officials say road closures during the Criterium races will include:

    • Kanawha Boulevard from Clendenin to Morris Street
      • Local traffic will be able to exit the area from McFarland Street and Leon Sullivan Way onto Kanawha Boulevard going eastbound toward Capitol Street.
    • Court Street from Kanawha Boulevard to Lee Street
      • Court Street will be accessible for both northbound and southbound traffic from Lee Street. Southbound traffic on Court Street will be routed to Quarrier Street.
    • Lee Street from Court Street to Summers Street
      • Eastbound Lee Street traffic will be routed to Court Street, and traffic can re-enter Lee Street from the intersection of Lee and Summers Streets.
    • Summers Street from Quarrier Street to Lee Street
      • Traffic traveling southbound on Summers Street from Washington Street will be routed onto Lee Street.
    • Quarrier Street from Hale Street to Summers Street
      • Southbound traffic will be able to access Quarrier Street from Court Street and westbound traffic on Quarrier Street will be routed to Dickenson Street.
    • Hale Street from Kanawha Boulevard to Lee Street
