BOYD COUNTY, KY (WOWK) – A local teacher made it onto the stage of ‘ The Price Is Right ‘ on Thursday!

Stacy McCarty is a teacher from Boyd County, Kentucky, and she was one of the first four contestants called on the show that premiered Thursday, May 23, which is also host Drew Carey’s birthday.

McCarty got the chance to win a new stove and paddleboards. She clearly knows her math as she won her big prizes and moved on to the Big Wheel! Unfortunately, her two spins did not win at the Big Wheel.

While the Big Wheel was spinning, McCarty gave a shoutout to friends and family back home.

“I wanna say high to my wonderful husband for bringing me here, our two girls Karli and Callie back home, our moms for keeping them, all the girls and the kids at Cannonsburg Elementary and our Boyd County Middle School volleyball team,” McCarty said.

McCarty told 13 News the experience of being on the show was a dream come true and a blessing.

“I was honored to be selected as a contestant on The Price is Right.  It was an amazing experience that I was so blessed to have. I’ve dreamed of being on The Price is Right since I was a little girl and I finally saw my dream come true! I want kids to know that if you have a dream and work hard you can make it come true!” McCarty said.

The Price is Right airs on WOWK-TV CBS from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. on weekdays.
