    Kentucky man arrested in connection to man’s death in Floyd County

    UPDATE (9:30 p.m., August 5, 2024) — Michael Colley has been arrested in connection to the death of a man in Floyd County, according to Kentucky State Police.

    He is being housed in the Floyd County Detention Center.


    FLOYD COUNTY, KY (WOWK) — A man is wanted in connection to the death of a man in the McDowell community of Floyd County, according to the Kentucky State Police.

    They said the body of Patrick Shepherd, 53, of McDowell, was found at a residence on KY-680 on Sunday.

    A fight between Michael Colley, 41, of Louisville, and Shepherd led to the victim suffering fatal injuries, according to the KSP. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

    Colley fled the scene and has not been found. He is six feet tall and weighs 212 pounds. Colley was last seen wearing a dark-colored jacket, sweatpants and athletic shoes, and is considered armed and dangerous, the Kentucky State Police said.
