CHARLESTON, WV (WOWK) – The audience was packed Sunday afternoon at Exceptional Possibilities’ first-ever fashion show at West Virginia State University.

The nonprofit organization was started by three special education professionals who wanted to create positive change and teach the community about inclusion, and during Sunday’s event, the community played an important part in that goal.

“A lot of local businesses have donated. They’ve came and helped us decorate. They’ve donated food, the clothing items, the silent auction items, all not just family and friends, but yes people in Charleston. It’s been great,” said Morgan Goodall, co-founder of Exceptional Possibilities.

Goodall said there was no monetary goal in mind when it came to fundraising, and they wanted to be able to keep hosting their events.

“Of course, it’s stressful getting it all together but it’s fun we enjoy doing it. We love seeing it all come together. We love seeing these kids. Some we know, some we don’t know go up there, strut their stuff, be themselves, and we love to see the reaction that the community gives because they’re learning too,” Goodall said.

She said that overall, they are overjoyed with the support the community has brought on and are currently in the process of planning more events in the weeks to come.
