Fires in Scioto County considered suspicious, possibly connected

SCIOTO COUNTY, OH (WOWK) — Two fires that broke out within three days of each other and destroyed both structures in Lucasville are considered suspicious and are believed to be connected, according to the Ohio State Fire Marshal’s office.
According to a press release, the first fire happened on Burns Hollow Road on Aug. 7, and the other one happened a mile down the road on Burns Left Fork Road on Aug. 10. The structures are owned by the same family, the release said.

They are asking for tips to help identify anyone responsible. You could contact the State Fire Marshal’s tip line at 800-589-2728. You can also contact the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office or the Jefferson Township Fire Department.
If it is ruled arson, a monetary reward will be offered.
The Ohio Department of Commerce Division of State Fire Marshal said they along with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and the Gallia and Lawrence County Sheriff’s Offices are looking for the suspects.
The fires started in April 2022 and have been as recent as Aug. 6. Here is when and where the fires happened, according to the press release.
