KANAWHA COUNTY, WV (WOWK) – The Kanawha-Charleston Humane Association gets all kinds of animals from different situations, and this week, a new, unique pet came into their care!

The KCHA is currently housing a rescued pig. KCHA officials say the pig, whom they’ve named Peppa the Pig, was abandoned at a home on Lens Creek Road. They say while they don’t have a confirmation on Peppa’s age or breed, they’re estimating she’s probably about a year old.

KCHA officials say Peppa is “ridiculously” sweet and the staff has fallen in love with her.

“She’s incredibly sweet, very friendly. She immediately settled into our little pig haven we made her and rolled in bliss,” the KCHA said in a Facebook post.

While writing this article, WOWK 13 News received word from the KCHA that they’ve been able to line up an adopter for Peppa! There is no word if her name will remain Peppa once she joins her new family.

If you’re looking to adopt a pet, but a pig isn’t exactly what you’re looking for, the KCHA has more about adoptable animals on their website. You can also learn more about donating or volunteering on the website.
