HUNTINGTON, WV (WOWK) – It’s Week of Welcome at Marshall University! Wednesday was all about the basics, giving new students a chance at a leg up on the upcoming semester.

Events for Wednesday included a campus tour, safety tips, and tech assistance to help familiarize new students with Marshall’s online platforms.

“And this year, we’re able to use something new. We have the Marshall U App which is available to all students and faculty,” said Buffy Six, communications coordinator for Intercultural Student Affairs at Marshall. “So through this app, we’re able to give them quick links to everything they need. We also have a community feed which is basically like social media but is for Marshall University’s campus. So students are able to talk back and forth, meet one another, ask questions, all of those important things.”

Of course, Week of Welcome also includes plenty of fun activities for incoming students to break the ice and make new friends.

Marshall’s Week of Welcome runs through Saturday.
