17th annual Beat Backpack Attack prepares kids for school

CHARLESTON, WV (WOWK) – More than 300 backpacks and other school supplies were handed out in Charleston for the 17th annual Beat Backpack Attack!

The backpacks, pencils and even water bottles all went to kids getting ready to start school this week. The backpacks were all stuffed with school supplies to help students have a successful school year.

Organizers say the goal is to prepare the kids to make sure they have everything they need and help take some stress off of parents.
