Rain returns to end the week in West Virginia, Ohio and Kentucky

(WOWK) – It has been a hot and dry week so far in the Appalachia, but StormTracker 13 Meteorologists predict big changes in the forecast will move in early Friday morning.

A warm front will pass through early tomorrow morning bringing in widespread chances for scattered rain showers and thunderstorms. Several other fronts will follow up extending rain chances through the weekend. Take a look at the slide show below to see when the rain will pass through your neighborhood!

Current model runs suggest that the strongest storms will develop for the later parts of Friday morning. We will see a marginal risk for severe thunderstorms with the main risk being damaging wind gusts.

Severe weather risk will return late Saturday afternoon. Once again the main risk will be damaging wind gusts. Sunday’s storms are predicted to be below severe weather risk.

These rain events are much appreciated and while they won’t eliminate the drought situation, we will get some relief.
