    Herbert Hoover students build desks for Kanawha County Board of Education

    KANAWHA COUNTY, WV (WOWK) – Some Kanawha County students are in the middle of a woodworking project – building new desks for the Board of Education.

    Students from Herbert Hoover High School are working on the desks, which are still under construction. Kanawha County Board of Education employees will be using the desks during their meetings.

    Herbert Hoover teacher Tim Meyer says he is proud of his students’ project.

    “It wasn’t too tough, I don’t think. They were all very eager to come in. You know, the first six students that I called – all six of them said yes. So it was a great project and we came in here and got working on it,” Meyer said.

    Meyer is hopeful the desks will be finished within the next few weeks.
