BROOKE COUNTY, WV (WOWK) — Pure Watercraft, which opened operations in Brooke County, has decided to leave West Virginia and the building is ready for someone else to move into the waterfront property, according to the West Virginia Department of Commerce.

The company — founded in Seattle back in 2011 — made an agreement with the state to manufacture its electric pontoon boats in Beech Bottom, Gov. Jim Justice (R-WV) announced back in August 2022.

They had an 80,000-square-foot facility at the Beech Bottom Industrial Park on the banks of the Ohio River.

According to Gov. Justice at the time, the company was expected to invest at least $5 million in the plant and create 100 full-time jobs out of the northern panhandle by the end of 2025.

According to the state commerce department, the building is owned by West Virginia and is ready for a new tenant to move in.

Back in February , another company in the northern panhandle decided to close its plant.
