    Huntington Waffle House shooting started as fight outside

    UPDATE (6:03 p.m. on August 18, 2024) — The Cabell County Sheriff’s Office has released more details on the shooting that took place at a Huntington Waffle House Sunday.

    According to Chief Deputy Doug Adams of the Cabell Sheriff’s Office, the caller reporting the incident said there was fighting just outside the Waffle House that moved inside. They later called again saying gun shots were fired and one person was injured. The injured person, an employee, was taken to the hospital.

    Law enforcement temporarily blocked lanes of traffic on Route 60 after finding shell casings on the road.

    Deputies were later notified that a person at a different hospital claimed to have been shot in the incident.

    There are no suspects at this time.


    UPDATE (2:38 p.m. on August 18, 2024) — Signs posted at the Huntington Waffle House say the location will be reopened Monday morning.


    UPDATE (1:10 p.m. on August 18, 2024) — The Cabell County Sheriff’s Office has released new details on the shooting that took place at a Huntington Waffle House Sunday.

    According to Chief Deputy Doug Adams of the Cabell Sheriff’s Office, an unknown suspect or suspects drove by the Waffle House and fired multiple rounds through the east side window, injuring a cashier and a man, both of whom were released from the hospital as of this morning.

    Law enforcement believes the shooting to be the result of an altercation that took place at a bar down the street and that it was an isolated incident.

    HUNTINGTON, WV (WOWK) — One person was transported after a shooting at a Waffle House in Huntington early Sunday morning.

    According to Cabell County Dispatch, the incident was reported around 4 a.m. at the Waffle House on Route 60. No arrests have been made at this time.

    Members of the Cabell County Sheriff’s Office were on scene alongside West Virginia State Police, Barboursville Police and Cabell County EMS.
