One transported after car flips on I-64

UPDATE (5:33 p.m. on August 18, 2024) — All lanes of I-64 have reopened.

INSTITUTE, WV (WOWK) — One person was transported after a vehicle flipped on Interstate 64 near Institute Sunday.

According to Metro 911, the single-vehicle crash was reported around 3:53 p.m. by the Institute exit. The eastbound fast and middle lanes are shut down at this time.

Members of the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office are on scene alongside the Tyler Mountain Volunteer Fire Department and Kanawha County Ambulance.
