Child injured after being shot in South Charleston

SOUTH CHARLESTON, WV (WOWK) – A child is injured after being shot in South Charleston on Sunday night.

According to the South Charleston Police Department, a firearm was discharged at an apartment in Southmoor Apartments. They say a juvenile was struck by one bullet.

Police add the child was transported from the scene to the hospital for treatment, and their injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.

Investigators say this was an isolated incident and there is no threat to the public.

The South Charleston Police Department is investigating the incident.
