HURRICANE, WV (WOWK) – Tourism in the region was highlighted Wednesday at the second annual State of the Valley in Hurricane. The discussion included all of the things that are currently happening as well as what could be.

The Kanawha Valley is constantly growing as a tourism sector, and the event gives area agencies the chance to get in on the economic development with opportunities for collaboration.

“We’ve got over 300 business professionals joining us here today at Valley Park to celebrate collaboration within the Valley,” said Ashley Alford Glance, president of the Putnam County Chamber of Commerce. “We really take pride in our ability to collaborate on efforts that better our communities as a whole. And so, one of the ways that we wanted to do that was by hosting a joint event every year in which we could celebrate the success of the community.”

This year’s State of the Valley was hosted by the Charleston Regional, Huntington Regional and Putnam County Chambers of Commerce.
