    Creekside Golf Course restaurant reopens after devasting fire

    LAVALETTE, WV (WOWK) – Eight months after a devastating fire , Creekside Golf Course clubhouse and restaurant reopened on Thursday.

    The fire happened late on Dec. 4, 2023, and completely destroyed the previous clubhouse and restaurant. The community rallied around the staff by hosting fundraisers to supplement lost wages.

    The new facility offers outdoor seating, as well as a fire pit area. The staff say they are very excited to be back.

    “Everybody’s been so supportive. And yesterday was the day we opened back up, and we’ve had so many customers, appreciative customers come in,” said Jennifer Cabe, a server/bartender at Creekside. “We’ve been so busy, and it’s really, really nice to be back.”

    The greens reopened in March, utilizing a temporary clubhouse.

    Creekside will be hosting a Tunnels to Towers golf tournament on Sept. 7, all proceeds go to Tunnels to Towers, which helps first responders and military in need.
