SUMMERSVILLE, WV (WOWK) — The Summersville Lake Marina is closing early due to the severe drought , but the people whose boats are there still have a bit of time before they have to leave.

According to a post on the Summersville Lake Marina Facebook page , seasonal slip holders from O-01 through O-59 (“inside Marina row”) and DS-01 through DS-53 (“inside Dive Shop row”) must remove their vessels no later than Sept. 2. The previous cutoff date for all boats was Aug. 28, but now, all remaining boats must check out no later than Sept. 7.

The last day of full marina services, “including fuel, boat rentals, and supplies,” will also be Sept. 7. All boat rentals and transient slip reservations after this day are canceled.

The post said that these dates are subject to change.
