Yard sale planned to help Dunbar woman fighting cancer

DUNBAR, WV (WOWK) – A close-knit community in the Tri-State is showing up in a big way for a friend in need.

In Dunbar, you can find a cancer benefit yard sale organized for a woman in the community who is fighting stage four lymphoma.

From unique treasures to household goods, and some homemade fudge to make it all sweeter, there’s something for sale to pique anyone’s interest. The benefit will help Catherine Sheppard with her medical expenses.

“Try to bring a little bit of awareness to what’s going on, not just particularly with me, but in the chance world, are a lot of changes, a lot of new treatments are available, and a lot of new options out there. So, yeah, it’s really good,” said Sheppard.

The yard sale is located on 17th Street next to the Tudor’s Biscuit World in Dunbar, right off I-64. It runs through Sunday evening.
