    Most power outages fixed after intense rainfall

    UPDATE (9:09 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 30): Most customers have their power back as of 9 a.m. on Friday, according to the power company’s outage map.


    KANAWHA COUNTY, WV (WOWK) — Much needed rain across parts of West Virginia came down fast and furious Thursday afternoon.

    It knocked out power to some, and also left being some challenges in the forms of downed power lines and trees.

    Eastern parts of Kanawha County appear to be hardest hit.

    More than 3,000 Appalachian Power Customers are in the dark.

    According to the power company’s website the lights are expected to be back on around 11 o’clock Friday night.
