BOONE COUNTY, WV (WOWK) – One Boone County high school has run into what could be considered a good problem to have, but they still need help fixing it.

The Sherman High School Marching Band announced they have a “larger-than-expected number” of new members joining their Sherman Junior High School Band this year. While having around 40 beginners joining the band is exciting for the school, the problem is now they need help getting more instruments.

The band posted on Facebook that they’re looking for help from the community for anyone who could donate used instruments. While any help is appreciated, they said instruments they specifically need include flutes, clarinets, trumpets and trombones.

“If you have an instrument that could use a new home and inspire the next generation of musicians, please consider donating it to our program. Your support can make a huge difference! Thank you!” the post said.

Anyone able to help out can reach out to the school at 304-837-3301, the band’s Facebook page , or email garret.cummings@k12.wv.us.
