CABELL COUNTY, WV (WOWK) – Cabell County Schools will proceed as normal on Tuesday after an online threat was determined to not be credible.

School officials say they were made aware of the online threat Tuesday morning. After working with the Cabell County Sheriff’s Department, it was determined to not be a direct threat to any schools in the area.

Based upon information from the Sheriff’s Department, the threat circulated through Ohio schools Monday and was re-posted locally, according to schools officials.

Mingo County Schools were under a precautionary lockdown Monday after a spoofing incident from Arkansas threated school shootings at multiple locations. The Mingo County Sheriff’s Office said the hoax threats happened at multiple schools in different regions.

Cabell County Schools says they will closely monitor the situation throughout the day, but they will continue on their regular schedules.
