CHARLESTON, WV (WOWK) – TC Energy is ready to start building their new home on Kanawha Boulevard.

The company and the Remington Charleston Corporation will host a groundbreaking ceremony for the new building at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18. The event will take place at the site, 200 Kanawha Blvd. East, where the old CASCI building once stood. CASCI left the building in September 2022.

TC Energy had been housing its offices in a building on MacCorkle Avenue in the Kanawha City area, but in November, the company announced they would be moving into a new building set to replace the old CASCI building in downtown Charleston. The old building was torn down over the summer.

The new building will be built by Remington Development Corporation. TC Energy says they expect construction will be complete sometime in 2025. They plan to move in in 2026.

According to documents filed in the Kanawha County Clerk’s Office on Thursday, Feb. 29, 2024, a company called Active 55, LLC, bought TC Energy’s old Kanawha City building for $14 million.
