    Ironton High School student arrested for making threat while at school

    UPDATE: (11:57 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 12) – Lawrence County Sheriff Jeff Lawless says a teenager was arrested for alleged threats in the Ironton City School District.

    According to Sheriff Lawless, the suspect is a 16-year-old female who attends Ironton High School. She is accused of making a verbal threat to shoot up the school, Lawless said.

    The student was arrested Wednesday by an LCSO deputy who works as a school resource officer. Lawless says she did not have any weapons.

    According to the sheriff, the teenager is facing charges of delinquency by inducing panic. She was taken to the Lawrence County Juvenile Center and will be arraigned in Lawrence County Juvenile Court at a later date, the sheriff said.


    IRONTON, OH (WOWK) — An Ironton High School student was arrested on Wednesday for making a threat while at school, according to Lawrence County Sheriff Jeff Lawless.

    Sheriff Lawless said the student was a girl.

    Her name has not been released.
