UPDATE: Fire out at natural gas-fired power plant

Editor’s note: a previous version of this story said this fire is happening at the AEP Flat Lick Substation. According to AEP their location is not dealing with a fire. 13 News is working to confirm the location.

UPDATE: (9:25 p.m. Thursday, September 12 ) — A fire is out at a natural gas-fired power plant in Vinton County.

That’s according to crews on the scene at the Rolling Hills Generating Plant who tells 13 News that no injuries were reported.

Crews from several departments were on the scene Thursday evening in the community of Wilkesville.

No other details about the fire are available right now.

VINTON COUNTY, OH (WOWK) – Crews are on the scene of a structure fire at a facility in Vinton County.

According to Vinton County 911 dispatchers, the call for the fire came in just before 7 p.m. at the Rolling Hills Generating Plant near the intersection of Route 160 and Route 689.

Dispatchers say no injuries have been reported.

Crews from the Hamden, Wilksville, Albony, Wellston, Jackson, Salem fire departments and Vinton County EMS are on scene.
