Ribfest returns to Charleston with award-winning barbecue

CHARLESTON, WV (WOWK) – Top-tier barbecue from across the nation is back in West Virginia’s Capitol City!

For four days, you can make your way to Haddad Riverfront Park for Charleston’s Ribfest to get some award-winning barbecue, something cold to drink and plenty of amusement rides for the kids! There’s also some sweet treats to satisfy your sweet tooth!

Some of the pitmasters along Kanawha Boulevard Thursday say they’ve been doing this for decades.

“This is 30 years of grilling here. And, I’ve been here in Charleston from day one on Magic Island. So it’s about 22 years coming to Charleston,” said Solomon Williams, Carolina Rib King.

Ribfest goes on through Sunday with a different theme of music happening each night.
