    Lockdown lifted after bullets found in South Charleston High School

    UPDATE (1:04 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 16): A precautionary lockdown at South Charleston High School has been lifted after a student found bullets in one of the school’s bathrooms, according to a spokesperson for Kanawha County Schools.


    SOUTH CHARLESTON, WV (WOWK) — South Charleston High School is on a precautionary lockdown after a student found bullets in one of the school’s bathrooms on Monday, according to the city’s police department.

    The South Charleston Police Department says there was no gun. They say no one is in custody.

    A spokesperson for Kanawha County Schools says the school is on a precautionary lockdown so law enforcement can investigate.

    The SCPD says an investigation is ongoing.

    When I was in high school about 13 years ago everyone hunted,we would have bullets in some of our jackets. We were told to turn them in there would be no repercussions.
