Man injured after SUV collides with train in Dunbar

UPDATE (6:34 p.m. on September 17, 2024) — A man was reportedly transported from the scene of the Dunbar train collision.

Witnesses told a 13 News photographer on the scene that an SUV driven by the man was stuck between the arms of the railroad crossing and that the man tried to get out. The extent of the man’s injuries has not been reported, but witnesses said he was conscious at some point before he was transported.

DUNBAR, WV (WOWK) — A car collided with a train at a crossing in Dunbar Tuesday.

According to Metro 911, the incident occurred on Dunbar Avenue and 12th Street around 5:36 p.m. Injuries are unknown at this time.

Members of the Dunbar Fire Department and Kanawha Ambulance were on scene alongside the Dunbar Police Department, which is investigating.
