“With great sadness, we say goodbye to our beloved Djambo as he crosses the rainbow bridge. Our thoughts and prayers are with his handler and partner, Sergeant Lyons. Djambo was a loyal and dedicated deputy of the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office, and he will be greatly missed,” the KCSO announced.

By the end of his eight-year career, the KCSO says Djambo helped seize 33 firearms, more than half a million dollars in illegal drugs, and more than $50,000 in US currency. He also helped arrest 20 suspects and helped to track multiple suspects.

According to the KCSO, throughout his career as a patrol K-9, Djambo also assisted every law enforcement agency in Kanawha County, as well as the West Virginia State Police, the Roane County Sheriff’s Office, the Winfield Police Department, the University of Charleston, Yeager Airport, the FBI and the US Postal Service.
