Kellogg Elementary School joins prestigious Blue Ribbon Schools

WAYNE COUNTY, WV (WOWK) — An elementary school in Wayne County has become part of an elite group of schools across the country.

Kellogg Elementary School is now a part of the 2024 class of National Blue Ribbon Schools, becoming one of only 356 schools in the country to receive the prestigious award.

Schools in this group are recognized for being the top performers in their state assessments. They also excel in narrowing achievement gaps between different school groups and the overall student body.

“Our teachers are so dedicated to this profession. They work so hard day in and day out. So, we have the best kids that I have ever worked with. They’re fantastic. They are calm and ready to learn and excited to be here,” Kellogg Elementary School Principal Julie Hutchinson said.

Schools that have been recognized as National Blue Ribbon Schools will display an award flag in their entryway or on a flagpole. It’s considered an emblem of exceptional teaching and learning.
