HUNTINGTON, WV (WOWK) – Authorities are investigating an alleged bomb threat against Huntington High School.

According to Cabell County Schools officials, administrators at HHS were made aware that the threat was left in a bathroom at the school. They say the alleged threat was meant for Wednesday.

The Huntington Police Department and school leaders are investigating the situation and will be inspecting the building and its premises to ensure that the campus remains safe for students and staff.

“We’d like to extend our gratitude to the Huntington Police Department for their diligence in following up with all reported concerns and working around the clock to keep our students, staff, and schools safe,” Cabell County Schools said.

Cabell County Schools says authorities and school officials will continue to monitor the campus Tuesday evening and throughout the day Wednesday so that the school days on both Tuesday and Thursday can proceed as normal.
