Dirty Birds lose game one of Championship Series

CHARLESTON, WV (WOWK) — The Charleston Dirty Birds lost their first game of the best-of-five 2024 Atlantic League Championship Series.

Despite leading 3-2 in the eighth inning, the Charleston team lost to the York Revolution with a final score of 7-3, with Aneuris Rosario giving up four runs just in the eighth.

The last time the Dirty Birds won a championship was in 1990 when they were known as the Charleston Wheelers.

The team’s final home game at GoMart Ballpark will be on Wednesday at 6:35 p.m. Thursday will be a travel day and the series will resume in York, Pennsylvania on Friday.
