UPDATE: (3:53 P.M. Sept. 25, 2024) – Officials with the Town of New Haven say there is now a boil water advisory for both New Haven and Hartford due to the technical difficulty with a pump at the wastewater plant.

MASON COUNTY, WV (WOWK) – Residents of the Mason County towns of New Haven and Hartford are being asked to limit their water usage temporarily.

According to the Town of New Haven, they are experiencing “technical difficulties” with a pump at the wastewater plant. As the town also supplies water for the neighboring town of Hartford, they are asking residents of both communities to limit the amount of water they use until the issue is fixed.

New Haven town officials reiterated on Facebook that they only ask that people limit the amount of water they use. They can still use the water.

Town officials say once the issue has been resolved, they will notify residents by phone call as well as through their Facebook Page.

Officials say they did send out a call Wednesday morning to notify people of the issue. They say if anyone did not receive a phone call, the city may not have a phone number on file for them.

To contact the Town of New Haven, call 304-882-3203.
