Netflix’s ‘Love is Blind’ is casting in Ohio: how you can get on the dating show

COLUMBUS, Ohio ( WCMH ) – A Netflix dating show, “Love is Blind,” is now casting for its upcoming season in Ohio and looking for singles who are ready to mingle and find love.

Kinetic Content, the show’s casting agency and production company, is now looking for anyone in the Columbus area. Donna Driscoll, who’s the EVP of Casting and Talent with the agency, said they are also looking for candidates in the Cleveland and Cincinnati areas as well.

“What we’re looking for is somebody who is mature, looking for the love of their life,” said Driscoll. “Somebody who’s ready to get vulnerable about who they are, what’s made them who they are and is also really good at telling their story.”

The agency is casting for several weeks and accepting applications online right now. Along with filling out the application, candidates also have the opportunity to send a 15-second video submission explaining why they think they would like to find love in this “unorthodox way.”

“We really want you to be the special and unique you when you submit your video and your application,” said Driscoll.

Thirty spots are open, 15 for women and 15 for men, for the experiment. The show has singles try to fall in love but do so without seeing each other face to face. The participants can only meet each other after a marriage proposal has been extended and accepted.

Once applications are looked at and if the agency is interested in the candidate, the process moves forward with the candidate doing a phone interview and potentially one or multiple zoom interviews with the casting team. If there’s still interest, the candidate will be introduced to the partners at Netflix, according to Driscoll.

The agency is also excited about casting in Columbus because the host of the show, Nick Lachey, is from the area.

“He is very excited to have people who represent Columbus,” said Driscoll. “We want to make sure that we are not looking for actors, models, you do not have to be an influencer. We are truly looking for people in their everyday life who have got everything going for them and the only thing they are missing is that final puzzle piece.”
