Money for new Ashland conference center to start being accepted in fiscal year 2025

ASHLAND, KY (WOWK) — Ashland will begin accepting the $25 million designated for the construction of a new conference center in fiscal year 2025, according to the city.

Ashland Public Information Officer Erica Bonner said the Ashland Board of Commissioners passed an ordinance to allow the money to be accepted. $12.5 million will be given in fiscal year 2025, and another $12.5 million in fiscal year 2026.

Bonner said this comes after the State Legislature designated $25 million of its budget for the city to build this conference.

As of now, there is no word on where the conference center will be.
