‘He doesn’t know what he took from us’: Family remembers life of murder victim Michelle Daniels

HUNTINGTON, WV (WOWK) — Michelle Daniels’ family is speaking out Thursday night following the recent development in her murder case.

Daniels’ daughters Angel Daniels and Donetta Casey are saying it’s hard to wrap their minds around the tragedy.

Their mother was found with severe injuries last week and was hospitalized before she died two days later. Police say they believe her husband Robert Daniels is responsible.

“She was going to stay with me Sunday night and it’s bothering me because I let her go home with him,” Angel says recalling the last time she spoke with her mother. “No kid should ever have to lose their mother in any kind of situation like this.”

The whole situation has brought out a mix of emotions.”We’re just trying to figure out why it happened. He just doesn’t know what he took from us,” Angel says.

As Daniels’ family and friends continue to mourn this loss, they’re also remembering all the good that she brought into their lives.

“Her laugh. Just how she would get mad about little things and she would make you laugh about it. She could make anyone laugh,” Angel says.

Amidst this tragedy, Donetta and Angel say they’re urging others who may be in the same situation to get help before it’s too late.

“Just because you think you love somebody that’s doing you like that, don’t let that cloud you to stay and keep taking that abuse,” Angel says.

Angel and Donetta say they will continue to push for justice in this case, but knowing that an arrest has been made gives them “peace of mind.”
