IRONTON, OH (WOWK) – The Ironton Tigers will still be hosting a team all the way from Canada Friday night, but just not on their home field.

Ironton Mayor Sam Cramblit says Ironton High School will be playing Friday’s game at Franklin Furnace in Green Township due to the Tigers’ stadium sustaining storm damage. Kick-off will be at 8:30 p.m., hosting Clarkson North, from Mississauga, Canada, which is just outside of Toronto.

According to Cramblit, only one section sustained damage, but the stadium is also without power as of Friday evening.

The game was supposed to be Ironton’s homecoming week, but the Ironton City School district already announced Thursday that the homecoming ceremony would be postponed to Friday, Oct. 18, in anticipation of severe weather. The homecoming dance is still scheduled for Saturday night, Sept. 28.
