UPDATE: (7:41 p.m. Friday, Sept. 27) – Lincoln County 911 says all of their lines are currently working, and people can call through from any phone service.

They say there was a slight miscommunication from the center to local fire departments. Lincoln 911 says a supervisor was in contact with Armstrong, but the lines did not go down.

Anyone experiencing an emergency in Lincoln County call 911 for help, dispatchers say.

LINCOLN COUNTY, WV (WOWK) – The Harts Volunteer Fire Department is warning residents that there is currently a phone service issue impacting 911 calls.

The Harts VFD says calls through the Armstrong telephone service are not going through to 911, which means people are unable to call the Lincoln County 911 in an emergency. The VFD says the issue just started around 6:20 p.m. Friday night, and they do not yet know how long it will be before it is fixed.

The Harts VFD says they are still available to serve the community in emergencies. They are asking anyone with an emergency to come to their station at 1087 McClellan Hwy, Harts, WV 25524. They say residents can try to call them at 304-855-9560, but they do not know if the service issue will impact the call.
