    What’s happening for Point Pleasant Battle Days 250th anniversary celebration?

    Video: Point Pleasant prepares for milestone Battle Days Festival

    POINT PLEASANT, WV (WOWK) – The City of Point Pleasant is embracing its history next week with the annual Battle Days celebration, which marks the Oct. 10 anniversary of the Battle of Point Pleasant.

    This year’s celebration will be larger, spanning from Oct. 5 through Oct 13, to mark the 250th anniversary of the battle. To learn more about the history of the Battle, check out WOWK’s three-part web series. Click here for Part 1 , here for Part 2 , and here for Part 3 .

    Point Pleasant prepares for milestone Battle Days Festival

    The schedule of events for the 2024 festivities will include:

    Saturday, Oct. 5:

    • 6 p.m. – Opening Ceremonies at the Riverfront Amphitheater
    • 6:30 p.m. – Opening of the Bicentennial Time Capsule at the Riverfront Amphitheater
    • 7 p.m. – 5K Glow Run
    • 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. – Concert at the Riverfront Amphitheater
    • 9 p.m. – Fireworks

    Sunday, Oct. 6:

    • 6 p.m. – Interfaith service at the Riverfront Amphitheater

    Monday, Oct. 7:

    • 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. – Art show at Peoples Bank
    • 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. – Sidewalk sales with merchants
    • 7 p.m. – Conversations with History: The Life and Times of Virgil Lewis
      • Presented by Chris Rizer at the Board Office
    Point Pleasant makes list of ‘weird, but unmissible’ travel destinations

    Tuesday, Oct. 8:

    • 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. – Art show at Peoples Bank
    • 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. – Quilt Show at Fort Randolph Terrace
    • 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. – Sidewalk sales with merchants
    • 7 p.m. – Conversations with History: The Life and Legacy of Livia Poffenbarger
      • Presented by Diana Johnson at the Board Office

    Wednesday, Oct. 9:

    • 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. – Art show at Peoples Bank
    • 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. – Quilt Show at Fort Randolph Terrace
    • 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. – Sidewalk sales with merchants
    • 7 p.m. – Conversations with History: Isaac Shelby

    Thursday, Oct. 10 – Anniversary of the Battle of Point Pleasant:

    • 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Memorial Service at Tu-Endie-Wei State Park
    • 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. – Reception at Tu-Endie-Wei State Park
    • 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. – Art show at Peoples Bank
    • 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. – Quilt Show at Fort Randolph Terrace
    • 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. – Sidewalk sales with merchants
    • 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. – Colonial ball at the First Church of God

    Friday, Oct. 11:

    • 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. – Living History Day at Tu-Endie-Wei State Park
    • 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. – Art show at Peoples Bank
    • 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. – Quilt Show at Fort Randolph Terrace
    • 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. – Sidewalk sales with merchants
    • 6 p.m. – Conversations with History: Logan’s Legacy and the Aftermath of the battle from the Native Perspective
      • Presented by Chris Chaney, Eastern Shawnee Nation at Tu-Endie-Wei State Park

    • 1:30 p.m. – Punch & Judy Show at Tu-Endie-Wei State Park featuring:
      • 1:30 p.m. – Ann Bailey, Chief Cornstalk, Colonel Andrew Lewis and Colonial games
      • 2 p.m. – George Washington, Puckinswah, Lord Dunmore, and Colonial dancing.
    • 2:30 p.m. – Punch & Judy Show at Tu-Endie-Wei State Park featuring:
