Downed power line in Barboursville closes road, causes outage

CABELL COUNTY, WV (WOWK) – Nearly 1,800 Appalachian Power customers are without power due to a downed line in Barboursville.

According to a CASS alert from Cabell County, the downed power line has also closed all four lanes of Route 60, just west of Peyton Street in Barboursville.

Drivers are being asked to avoid the area for the next few hours. For now, Appalachian Power’s outage map is showing an estimated restoration time of 8:30 p.m. Thursday night. To check for updates on the outage status, check the outage map here .
