Floyd County elementary school staff member charged with intoxication

FLOYD COUNTY, WV (WOWK) — A staff member at Duff-Allen Central Elementary in Floyd County, Kentucky, was charged with alcohol intoxication on Monday.

According to a Wednesday release on the Floyd County Schools Facebook page , a school aide was reported for intoxication during school hours. The Floyd County Sheriff’s Department investigated and the aide has since been arrested and charged.

“Floyd County Schools takes this matter very seriously and is committed to providing a safe and supportive environment for our students and staff. We are cooperating fully with local authorities and will follow our district protocols regarding employee conduct,” Floyd County Schools said in the release.

The identity of the suspect has not been released.
