Kentucky State Police (KSP) said troopers were dispatched around 12:26 p.m. on Wednesday to the 3500 block of Brierly Ridge Road after two men reportedly found a dismembered body behind the home. According to an arrest citation, the men were there to work on a building for the owner, but no one came to the door when they knocked.

The men proceeded to walk around the property in search for the owner but instead stumbled upon a crime scene, court records detailed.

State police described finding drag marks from the back door of the home to the yard where the dismembered body was discovered alongside a pile of hair, two mattresses, and a stick on the porch, all of which were blood stained. The arms, legs, and head had reportedly been removed from the body, and the torso was severed.

Troopers obtained a search warrant to enter the Brierly Ridge Road home, but 32-year-old Torilena Fields refused to exit.

According to an arrest citation, the Kentucky State Police Special Response Team deployed multiple volleys of tear gas and used a robot to communicate with her. After an 11-hour standoff, she emerged covered in blood and was subsequently arrested without further incident.

“This is going to be a long night for our guys,” KSP Trooper David Jones told FOX 56 News.

After further investigation, investigators noted that in the kitchen, a pot was discovered inside the oven. Inside they found “human body parts” that appeared to have been “cooked.”

“The pot was still warm to the touch,” an arrest citation read.

Court documents noted that they also found that the mattress folded in half concealed multiple body parts and organs.

In an interview with authorities, one of the witnesses told troopers that the last time he had seen the victim was around 6 p.m. on Oct. 8 when he accompanied them to the property.

“[He] stated that Torilena was casting spells on them and being confrontational,” the arrest citation detailed. “[The victim] and Torilena Fields were the only ones at the residence on October 8, 2024.”

Court records note who the victim is believed to be and their relationship to the suspect; however, KSP asked that information not be released to the public until the remains are positively identified. Trooper David Jones told FOX 56 that the body was sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy and identification. FOX 56 spoke with the Robertson County Coroner’s Office, who offered no comment.

An autopsy is set for Friday, per Jones.

Fields, 32, was charged with obstructing governmental operations, tampering with physical evidence, and abuse of a corpse. KSP said after further investigation, additional charges may be filed.

An arrest citation noted that drugs are expected to be a factor in the case.

She was booked into the Bourbon County Detention Center without bond.
