WVSU hosts Jack-O’-Lantern Jubilee events in Dunbar

KANAWHA COUNTY, WV (WOWK) – West Virginia State University’s Extension Service kicked off the spooky season on campus Thursday with the first Jack-O’-Lantern Jubilee of the year.

The event welcomed families and individuals to come out and enjoy the fun of decorating pumpkins at Stinger Produce Market in Dunbar! They had plenty of options from traditional pumpkin carving and painting to drawing and stickers for the kiddos.

“It’s always nice to have a place like this to be able to celebrate, to be able to get together, to meet the other people in your community, and also just to get out of the house a little bit,” said Lydia Roberts, with the Produce Market.

If you missed Thursday’s event there are still two more dates to get out and enjoy the fun – Thursday, Oct. 17 and Thursday, Oct. 24. Both events are from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Stinger Produce Market.

While the Jack-O’-Lantern Jubilee is a free event, registration is required to make sure enough supplies are available. Anyone interested in participating can register online here .
