Light rain and even mountain snow ahead

(WOWK) — Snow could fall across the high terrain of West Virginia over the next few nights. Predictor model output shows snow sticking at the highest elevations of West Virginia especially Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.

Rainfall on Tuesday will be light and temperatures will be in the 50s. Showers will slide in from the northwest through the day. However, rainfall amounts look to be very light.

In fact, looking at the American GFS weather model that runs until October 30th, there are only three real chances for any rain over the next two weeks. The amount of rain appears to be negligible, meaning drier conditions will prevail most of those days.

In the meantime look for some cold nights and either frost or a freeze Wednesday morning through Saturday morning. Daytime highs will step up after Thursday and jump back into the 70s for the weekend with nice weather expected.
