JACKSON COUNTY, WV (WOWK) — An artisan market that calls Jackson County home settled in a new location Monday.

It used to be in Ripley, but the “Artisan Market” hosted a grand reopening Monday for a location right off the Fairplain Exit near the Speedway. Inside, they will offer food, live music, yoga and different works from more than 80 juried artisans across West Virginia.

Owner Shari Leavitt got her start as an artisan and decided she wanted to put together a permanent place for people like her to sell their work.

“I mean, I hope that we can stay active with the community that’s there. We’ve always tried to do that, and just so that we can be more accessible to people. We’re excited. I don’t really know what our future is, but I hope it just keeps on climbing,” Leavitt said.

As a part of the grand reopening, all artisans who are not regular vendors can come and sell their works in the parking lot this weekend.
